CALL FOR CANDIDATES!

The Penfield Democratic Committee is seeking candidates for two Town of Penfield elected offices in addition to a seat on the Monroe County Legislature. We would be happy to speak with anyone who would like to know more about the responsibilities and the wonderful opportunities to serve our community that these roles comprise. Direct experience in municipal service is not required for any of them!

• PENFIELD TOWN BOARD MEMBER: Paid, part-time position with a four-year term. The Board’s work substantively determines how Penfield’s motto, “Town of Planned Progress”, plays out.

• PENFIELD TOWN JUSTICE: Paid, part-time position with a four-year term. Though typically lawyers, some Town Justices come from law enforcement or related backgrounds.

• MONROE COUNTY LEGISLATOR: Paid, part-time position, generally with a four-year term. The direction, growth and general welfare of our county lies significantly in legislators’ hands.

If you have ever had an interest in doing (or doing even more) civic duty, any of these roles offers a stimulating and deeply meaningful avenue. Even if you just want to learn more, please feel free to contact us. penfield town supervisor resigns

Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2023 -- Penfield Town Supervisor Marie Cinti announced today that she has resigned so she can continue to care for an ill family member.

We are very sorry to see her leave office. Marie was a much-needed change to Penfield town government. She enthusiastically engaged with the Penfield community and was open to hearing different perspectives and ideas from any resident. She addressed some difficult Town issues from before her tenure with competence, grace, and candor.

We respect Marie and thank her for her dedication and commitment to Penfield. We understand and support her in her focus on her family and wish her only the best.

We hope the Penfield town government will fully embrace and carry forward Marie's openness to fresh, diverse ideas and transparency, demonstrating those valuable traits in all they do.

Volunteer

We have a slate of great local candidates running for office this year and we need your help to get them elected. There are many ways you make a difference and there's sure to be at least one that fits your interests and time.

We need volunteers to help with lit drops, phone calls, letter writing campaigns, lawn signs (posting on your yard or delivering to others), hosting of neighborhood "meet the candidates" coffees or yard parties, and, of course, financial contributions.
